Our passage this week teaches us that God “equips us in every good thing to do His will.” He delights in enabling us to do our tasks – His tasks – so that our lives can be more fruitful and fulfilled.

Back in 1979, an archaeologist named Dr. Gabriel Barkay was doing a dig just outside of Jerusalem when he discovered two silver strips (called amulets) which were rolled up like scrolls. It turns out that those amulets now contain the oldest surviving biblically-related inscription ever discovered (to date). So, maybe this particular text has long been supremely treasured by God’s people.

Have you seen Avengers: Endgame? Lots and lots of people have. Ticket sales have surpassed $2 billion worldwide. It’s obviously a compelling and epic tale of collaborative heroism.
