First Fruits | Feast on This

Have you given much thought lately to how important calendars are? Not only do they help us understand the past, but they help us live for the day and plan for the future. In the scriptures, God has set forth a special calendar for His people – a calendar of Feasts – and it does indeed point us to the past, the present and the future. I’m excited to share with you today how the third feast, the Feast of First Fruits, connects us to the resurrection of Jesus Christ and to our own resurrection as well.

Passover | Feast on This

Passover is more than a one-time event celebrated yearly by the Jewish Nation. Today, Christians spread the blood of our Spotless Lamb on the doorposts of our hearts and experience Passover for all eternity. We celebrate the timeless demonstration of God’s love, mercy, and grace as He passes over our sins and redeems us completely. How do you celebrate Passover?

A New Location | This Keeps You Running

Have you ever been mountain climbing? I’ve only done it a few times (and nothing “major”). Through those experiences I’ve learned a couple of important truths: 1) the difficulty of the climb is dependent upon the terrain of the individual mountain, and 2) it’s foolish to climb alone. Both of those principles apply to the Christian life.

Peace & Holiness | This Keeps You Running

Thanks to Amazon and online shopping, we really don’t have to go pursuing what we want to purchase as much anymore. But there’s no Amazon in the spiritual realm; we have to pursue what we hope to acquire. And God gives us clear direction on what He wants us to pursue in this marathon race of life. I look forward to showing you just what that is as we keep on moving down Hebrews 12.

Endurance | This Keeps You Running

Do you like to run or jog? Other than being rather slow, lacking endurance, getting shin splints, and having aching joints…I like everything about it. The truth is that life is like a marathon; we all need endurance to finish well. That will be our topic of discussion today I look forward to unpacking Hebrews 12:1-3 with you as we kick off our new series, “This Keeps You Running.”

Infinite | In View of God

Hey beloved – Ok. So, God is infinite, and I am not. I am sorry that I fell ill last week and was unable to be with you, but I am excited to try again today! I have the awesome privilege of sharing from God’s Word just how big God is. He is indeed infinite.

Sovereign | In View of God

Have you ever “binge watched” a TV show? People do it all the time in our culture today. Something about us just doesn’t want to stop watching until the end – until we experience the catharsis that the final episode offers us (hopefully!). I think that’s just part of being human; we often feel that way about our own lives. So maybe that’s why one of the greatest and most comforting attributes of God is His sovereignty – the fact that He is actually in command of every episode of our lives along the way.

Immutable | In View of God

In my home growing up, I often heard the phrase, “the only thing constant is change." We live in a world filled with change — seasons, technology, hair styles (well, for some of us). So, it very well could be the most comforting truth of all that God Himself does not change. In other words, He is immutable.

Multiply | Trust the Process

Did you have a favorite class growing up? For me, it was math. (Well, that’s assuming recess doesn’t count.) I loved solving problems through addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. And speaking of multiplication, that’s actually what we’ll be discussing today. It’s the final step we see in God’s process of spiritual growth.

Serve | Trust the Process

What comes to mind when you hear the word "serve?" For some of you, it might make you think of those who serve in our armed forces; for others, maybe those who wait on tables; and fo you athletes, maybe even tennis or volleyball. But what does “serve” mean in the context of the Christian life?
