Connect | Trust the Process

Do you like doing puzzles? The Sherman family does — especially on vacation. . .when the weather is bad. Still, there’s something satisfying about putting all the right pieces in all the right places and seeing the finished work. Honestly, it’s a lot like church. We’re all pieces meant to be connected to one another in order to display a completed picture of God’s grace.
Worship | Trust the Process

You might not be a baseball fan, but you have to admire what the Houston Astros accomplished a couple of years ago: They won the World Series! What’s remarkable is that, from 2011 to 2013, they won only 33% of their games. But the leadership kept encouraging all the players and fans to “trust the process." And they did; and it worked! Well, TBC family, this month we’re going to be encouraged by our heavenly Father to “trust the process” He has for us to grow and live victoriously as fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. I look forward to showing it to you.
The Christmas Story | Good News of Great Joy
Good News | Good News of Great Joy

Do you like surprises? They can either be exciting or frightening — or a mixture of both. I’m certain that those lowly shepherds got the surprise of their lives 2000 years ago when the angel and his backup choir proclaimed to them the “good news of great joy.”
Unspeakable | Good News of Great Joy

If you watch the news, it seems that good news is getting harder to come by these days. Well, 2000 years ago, one of the most famous encounters in the Christmas story took place when the angel proclaimed to the lowly shepherds that he was bringing “good news of great joy.” What makes this joy so “great?”
From Bethlehem to Bethany | TBC 40th Anniversary

Have you ever gone back to visit the place of your birth (or where you grew up)? It’s the ultimate nostalgic experience. Well, for the Trinity Bible Church family, we’ll be experiencing some nostalgia this Sunday, as we look back at our “formative years” with the help of some folks who were there 40 years ago. And yet we’ll also look ahead at where we see God leading us down the road. It should be very special and exciting time in the history of our church.
Thankful | Status Update

So there’s this debate going around our office: “Is it ok to play Christmas music before Thanksgiving?” Regardless of where you stand on this, I just don’t want us to miss the simple beauty and blessing that Thanksgiving holds. So, today we’ll focus on “giving thanks in everything.”
Merciful | Status Update

I’m not a sociologist, psychologist, or political scientist, but I don’t think you necessarily have to be one to observe the antagonistic climate brewing in our country these days. It’s very disconcerting. But it’s also an opportunity for the Church of Jesus Christ to show up and show out for who we really are. That will be the thrust of our discussion as we endeavor to “perfect mercy.”
For the Life of MY World | For the Life of the World

Over the past several weeks, we have seen from God’s Word how the Church of Jesus Christ is His gift to the world — that we are blessed to be a blessing. Today we have the unique privilege of hearing from the creator, author and lead figure in the For the Life of the World series, Evan Koons, as he and I will share in a round table discussion about “So What? Now What?”
A Present Hope of a Future Kingdom | For the Life of the World

Many objects in the heavens and the earth are invisible to the human eye without the aid of a telescope or microscope. They help us “see the invisible.” As we wrap up our For the Life of the World series, we will be “seeing the invisible” through eyes of faith.
