Taking the Hills – Genuine Worship

When I was traveling in Morocco last year, I encountered a tourist stand where they were selling their wares. This is what the sign said: “Genuine Fake Watches”. Yep. No kidding. I thought, “Well, at least they’re being honest about their forgeries!” In worship, as in life, there’s just a difference between what is real and what is fake. And that will be the heart of our discussion in Isaiah 29 today as we take “Hill #3: Genuine Worship". -Jon Sherman, Senior Pastor

Taking the Hills – Engaging Outreach

A very thoughtful person blessed our staff with a huge box of chocolates over the holiday season. You know, a great life lesson can be learned from eating a box of chocolates: get to the box first so you can pick out your favorites! 🙂 Actually, I was reminded that, like eating the chocolates, it’s not what’s on the outside that counts, but what’s on the inside. So it is with us. And God’s presence within us makes all the difference. That will be the thrust of our lesson today. -Jon Sherman, Senior Pastor

But God. . .

According to History.com, people have been observing a “new year” for over 4000 years. While we have turned it into an excuse to “party” in our modern culture, I think, at least in part, this annual observance is linked to our deep desire for hope and change in this world. We’ll be discussing our theme for 2018 and the who, what & why behind real hope and change.
