Abortion | Hot Summer Topics 2022
How can we have a respectful and loving conversation with someone about abortion? It’s not a term found in the Bible, so how can we answer questions regarding women’s rights and when life begins with confidence?
We live in a country that has convicted an individual for murdering both his wife and their unborn son (remember the trial of Scott Peterson) and has also permitted over 900,000 unborn babies to be aborted in a year. Is that not confusing? So how should we as Christians respond? We’ll look at answers to these questions as we consider the issue of abortion, which some have called “the moral issue of our day.”
Deconstruction | Hot Summer Topics 2022
Have you ever known someone who decided they didn’t want to be a Christian anymore? Maybe someone you went to church with growing up, or even a friend or family member? Perhaps you have even considered stepping away from the Church at some point in your own life. The term “deconstruction” has become popularized with the idea of “leaving the faith.” We will try to understand deconstruction, discuss some of the reasons why people who have grown up in the Church are deciding to leave their faith, and then we’ll look at a Biblical response to those around us in this position. My study of this subject has me excited about the opportunity for the Church and also alert to the challenges we face.
Where You Work Isn’t By Chance | Workship

Eugene Peterson wrote that work is “an area where our sin is magnified or where our faith matures.” To help us learn how our work can be a place where our faith matures, we’ve invited a few individuals to join us to share part of their stories. These individuals strive to use their businesses to bless others and glorify God. So, if you desire for your place of work to be a place where your faith grows, join us as we continue our teaching series Workship!
Jesus Came to Work For Us | Workship

What motivates you to work? Rewards, money, family, profits, recognition, competition, promotions, purpose…? If you own a business, are employed by a business, run your home, or are a student in college or high school, one or more of these may drive you to be wildly productive in your work. But what if there is a higher motivation? Regardless of the kind of work you do, join us as we continue our preaching series Workship to discuss this motivation and its potential impact on your work.
Malachi | Major on the Minors

If you tried to guess what the last word in the last book of the Old Testament is, you might be surprised. It’s not the “happily ever after” ending that you are accustomed to seeing in your favorite book or movie. The last word is “curse”. This is because God’s people needed a wakeup call, and God used Malachi to deliver it. Despite the last word in the last book of the Old Testament being a word of judgment, Malachi offers a message of hope.
Nahum | Major on the Minors
You are likely familiar with the story of Jonah and his preaching assignment in Nineveh that led to a shocking spiritual awakening, but do you know the rest of the story? Join us as we look at the book of Nahum. This brief Old Testament book with only 46 verses gives us the rest of Nineveh’s story and is packed with a serious word for us today.
Overcoming Evil With Good | RADICAL

What does it look like to overcome and not be overcome? That’s a question we will tackle this Memorial Day weekend as we finish our teaching series from Romans 12 by looking at the chapter’s final verse:
Romans 12:21, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
Help, Hospitality and the Gospel | RADICAL

This Mother’s Day, we will study a very fitting verse found in Romans 12:13. We hope you will join us and many others in memorizing it this coming week:
Romans 12:13, “…contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.”
We’ll look at this verse and a somewhat unfamiliar woman mentioned in the Bible who embodied it. Despite being lesser known, the Scripture calls her “worthy” and we can all learn what practicing radical hospitality looks like from her example.
The Shape of the Christian Life | RADICAL

Who’s up for a challenge? I bet you are. As part of our upcoming teaching series, Radical, we are going to challenge ourselves each week to memorize verses, or like the Old Testament says “treasure” them in our hearts. Our first memorization challenge is Romans 12:9-10.
Love must be free of hypocrisy. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor.
What Difference Does It Make That Jesus Rose From The Dead? | Easter 2022

If what Americans watch on TV is any indication of our collective interests, then it stands to reason that we are interested in criminal investigation. NCIS, Law and Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, etc. are some of the most popular drama series of our time. What all of those shows have in common is the pursuit of facts – verifiable truth that can help them close the case. We get to look at a fact that turned the world upside down and “closed the case” on life after death.
