The Early Church | The Story

“The Church is a building” is one of the many misconceptions people have of the Church. Misconceptions like this one are problematic because a mistaken view of the Church robs people from experiencing what God intended. So join me today as we walk through the book of Acts and tackle several of the misconceptions of the Church. My hope is that we discover what it means to be part of the greatest global community ever born.

Son Of God | The Story

“Do you believe this?” In John 11, Jesus poses the most important question that each of us must answer. Today as we continue our sermon series “The Story” we will examine this question as we look at the ultimate miracle Jesus performed. Regardless of where you are spiritually, join us to see why your answer to this question matters.

No Ordinary Man | The Story

Did you know only one miracle, apart from Jesus’ resurrection, occurs in all four of the Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John? As we continue in our series “The Story,” we will discover this miracle, the commotion it caused, and how it led many disciples to quit following Jesus.

Your Words | Show Me

The familiar children’s poem “Sticks and Stones” is catchy and cute, but the phrase in the poem “words will never break me” is just not true. Words are powerful, even destructive. As we continue in our series today in the book of James, we will see that the tongue is compared to a fire that can set forests ablaze. So if you struggle, like many of us, with your words, join us. We will discover tools to help tame the tongue, because friends, our speech reflects the spiritual condition of our hearts.

Your Love | Show Me

In high school before first period began, my friends and I would meet at a local church to play pick-up basketball with some “old guys." Our attitude about these guys and their basketball skills was wrong, and let’s just say us young guys got schooled. Isn’t this what we tend to do as humans? We often judge people based on external factors like appearance, dress, and color. As we continue our study in the book of James, we will look back at how judging others caused friction in the early church and look forward to how we as followers of Jesus can love, not judge.
