About Mike & Martha Rudd
Mike and Martha met while attending Bible college and married in 1984. God has blessed them with 5 children, whom Martha home schooled. Mike felt he should put his desire for working in ministry on hold till God’s timing was right, so he managed and owned construction companies for many years. They joined TBC in 1993 where Mike helped start the missions program. Mike led the short-term trips for TBC until 2001, when God called them to serve as full time missionaries to the Deaf in Jamaica.Â
In 2007, they started Good Word Ministries to reach the Deaf in central Honduras. Since most of the Deaf they meet do not know sign language, sharing God’s love while teaching sign language goes before explaining the Gospel and teaching the Bible. God uses Martha’s experience working with Deaf and blind persons before marriage as well as Mike’s managerial and construction experiences. They work collaboratively with Honduran leaders in many towns, in addition to establishing a Deaf church. Over the years their ministry has grown to include the spectrum of special needs, working with both children and adults.
