Episode 36: Raise the Roof (and the Frother)

A roof! An actual roof!

I don’t know who decided to start on this side, but I’d like to nominate them for Employee of the Year.

It’s way easier to take pictures from over here.

Episode 36: Raise the Roof (and the Frother)

Painting with mud.

Just like my kids—only with permission and fewer arguments. ????????‍♂️

Thursday, October 9

In today’s video tour, we’ll find answers to all life’s most pressing questions:

Do they put the plumbing or the framing in first?
Which end of the roof will they start on next?
And what about the baptismal???

Episode 36: Raise the Roof (and the Frother)

Well, look at that—stairs!

They’ve taken the forms off and will backfill this whole area with dirt.

And no, there won’t be a creepy hiding space down there.

At least I hope not. ????

Episode 36: Raise the Roof (and the Frother)

Mystery solved! ????️‍♀️

The rebar loops tie one pour of concrete to the next.

Concrete friendship bracelets, basically.

And don’t make fun of my arrows—it’s harder than you think to draw with a computer mouse. ????️????

Episode 36: Raise the Roof (and the Frother)

The Zap Zone is getting its own room! ⚡️

All the electricity for the new Worship Center will come through this space—then out to the whole building and the parking lot lights.

Oh, the power! ⚡️

Anyone else start singing “the wonder-working power” song just now? No? Just me? ????

Episode 36: Raise the Roof (and the Frother)

It’s a wall, y’all!
In the middle. of. the. stage.

Did anyone else not see that coming? Because same.

I knew there was going to be a backstage area, but I thought it was just that skinny section by the ramp.

Turns out we could host a whole small group back there with this much space! ????

Episode 36: Raise the Roof (and the Frother)

Another angle of the mystery wall.

Yep, still right there—in the middle of the stage.

What if we just add some of those rock-climbing stickie-outie things?

It could double as recreation at Kids Blast! ????‍♀️????

Episode 36: Raise the Roof (and the Frother)

This is the men’s restroom. ????

Lots of mystery spikes sticking out of the wall right now.

Probably best not to lean back.

Episode 36: Raise the Roof (and the Frother)

I thiiiiink these are light fixtures?? ????

Y’all are welcome to weigh in. ????

Episode 36: Raise the Roof (and the Frother)

They’re about to go rogue!! ????

Kidding, kidding… they’re just about to extend the roof over the outdoor area.

Still looks intense, though. ????️

I’ll leave you with this… ☕️
I was walking past this guy as I headed out, and it was so fascinating I had to video it for y’all.

Basically, it’s a giant construction frother—mixing buckets of that wall “mud” like he’s crafting the world’s largest latte. ????

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!

About These Updates

This is a casual, behind-the-scenes look at the Worship Center construction at Trinity. I’m Krista Gordon, Communications Director, armed with a phone camera and curiosity, a pretty consistent track record of confusing water pipes with electrical things, and an AI buddy who helps turn my construction confusion into comedy.

I may not know much about construction, but here’s one thing I do know: as Pastor Eric often reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). Watching this Worship Center rise right outside our offices is a tangible reminder that our true foundation is built on Christ alone.

To Him be all the glory!
