Hmmm… pipes.
That’s it. That’s the caption.
Because honestly, I have no clue what they’re for.

Last week: ditch.
This week: no ditch.
What’s next? And what was it even for??
I vow on my goldfish’s grave that I will find out.
(Full disclosure: I’ve never actually owned a goldfish. My kid had a beta fish once, and let’s just say he’s not with us anymore.)

This morning on my way into work…
Look! They were unwrapping the roof stuff this morning!!
Max did say they’d start the roof this week.

Later that afternoon…
Well, now I’m starting to get suspicious—because from this angle, it sure doesn’t look like they’re putting any roof to me.
Unless it’s an invisible roof.
Or one of those pergolas that doesn’t actually shade you from sun or rain.

Well, since there’s no roof action…
Back to watching some guys paint concrete.
Or seal it.
Or baptize it.
Thursday September 18

In the morning before the video tour…
Ah man, I was too slow. As I was getting out of my car this morning, this beauty was drilling a big ol’ hole in the ground.
By the time I ran over, all I got was them packing up. Darn.
Now I’m left wondering—what was that hole even for? I’ll try to ask Max before I film the video tour for you.
Bahahaha! YouTube picked this as the thumbnail for the video—my giant hand pointing at stuff? Is it showing that for you too??
Seriously, how does it even choose thumbnails? Is YouTube like… “look, a giant hand! Surely that’ll bring views.”
Anyway… back to the subject at hand.
(I’m so punny.)
Max filled me in: that hole actually had a purpose. And yes, the roof really is going up as we speak—even though it looks like there’s absolutely NO ROOF up there.
Disclaimer on all video tours filmed by me: I like to tell Max, “Now I’m going to go misquote everything you just explained.” So… take my commentary with a grain of salt. Haha.

After the video tour…
Here are Colton and Ben (our awesome Facilities Team at TBC), hard at work.
What are they doing, you ask?
Gluing pipes together.
Why?

Because these three pipes coming out of the old building will carry our cables to the new Worship Center (I think).
The pipes Colton and Ben are gluing will protect those cables in the ground.
Colton and Ben are awesome, by the way!! You should meet them if you haven’t already. If you want to see what Christ’s servant love looks like (Galatians 5:13–14), just watch the way they serve and care for the people around them. It’s beautiful.

During the day while I was working in my office…
My friend Emily (Pastor Eric’s amazing executive assistant) texted me that they’re putting the roof on!
So of course I had to come look.
And sure enough—it’s a real roof. Like… actual roof panels. A roof that looks like a roof!!!

End of my work day, walking out to my car…
The roof! It’s finally going on, piece by piece.
And mi amiga Marian (our Local Outreach Coordinator here at TBC) sent me this song all about tearing the roof off to get to Jesus.
Which is perfect—because first we’ve actually got to put a roof on.
Enjoy the song, and have a great day!!
(Also, 10/10 for YouTube’s thumbnail pick. A guy screaming and tearing off his coat? Definitely something I would click on.)
About These Updates
This is a casual, behind-the-scenes look at the Worship Center construction at Trinity. I’m Krista Gordon, Communications Director, armed with a phone camera and curiosity, a pretty consistent track record of confusing water pipes with electrical things, and an AI buddy who helps turn my construction confusion into comedy.
I may not know much about construction, but here’s one thing I do know: as Pastor Eric often reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). Watching this Worship Center rise right outside our offices is a tangible reminder that our true foundation is built on Christ alone.
To Him be all the glory!
