Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

Tuesday, September 30

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

Someone at Sam’s Club really overdid it on bulk ordering.

Pretty sure this is the Pringles aisle.

Wednesday, October 1

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

The giant styrofoam puzzle pieces are going up on this side!

You know what I’m MOST excited about for this outdoor space?!

Sitting out here while it’s raining!!!

And you better believe you’ll catch me out here working on my laptop on those rainy days.

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

Hey look!

They’ve already got one section of roof up!!

Thursday, October 2

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

Welp. No more yellow on this side.

If you’ve been driving in from the Weatherford direction, you’ve probably noticed you can now see our new Worship Center from super far away—almost from the next exit!

Of course… that could just be the blindingly bright yellow sheeting.

Maybe we should keep one wall neon for visibility. ????

Friday, October 3

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

This is the bottom layer of insulation for the roof.

See that black part?

If you watch the video tour at the end of this update, you’ll spot that same black stuff up on the ceiling of the new Worship Center. ????⬆️

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

See that ledge?

That’s where the bottom of the dirt will be once they fill it in.

The funnest part?? (Most fun? Whatever… we’re not grammatical over here.)

As you run along it—now the wall’s taller, now it’s shorter, now taller again. I can already see kids turning it into their own back-and-forth race. ????‍♀️????‍♂️

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

Confirmed: gate post.

So last week’s wild guess wasn’t actually that wild.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day… and apparently so am I. ⏰????

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

The stairway wall has. Been. Poured. Folks! ????

We’re officially one step closer to an escape route for Pastor Eric after a Hot Topics sermon.

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

Ummm…

Why is it so weirdly satisfying to see the concrete squish and dribble and plop out of this hole???

Like the construction version of popping bubble wrap. ????‍♀️

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

I think this is the final layer of wall stuff.

Which means… this is what it’s actually going to look like! ????

Minus the scaffolding, obviously. ????

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

So. Much. Scaffolding!!!

Max told me it takes about two whole days just to build all of that.

So many pieces… and here I thought IKEA furniture was complicated. ????????

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

The third section of roof is going on already! ????

First they roll out insulation horizontally—that’s the stuff with the black underside.

Then they roll normal, boring insulation vertically from the peak down to the eaves.

And after all that layering comes the shiny metal roof on top! ????️ Ta-da!

Episode 35: The Pringles Aisle Is Open.

Look! He waved at me!!! ????

Awww. I feel so seen.

He probably does too… but more in a “some-weird-lady-is-taking-pictures-of-me” kind of way. ????

How does the scaffolding not fall over??

Which bathroom are the plumbers working on today?

Why did they plastic wrap the windows??

And what does the roof look like on the underside? ????

All these questions and more (or possibly less) are answered in this week’s video tour! ????????‍♂️

About These Updates

This is a casual, behind-the-scenes look at the Worship Center construction at Trinity. I’m Krista Gordon, Communications Director, armed with a phone camera and curiosity, a pretty consistent track record of confusing water pipes with electrical things, and an AI buddy who helps turn my construction confusion into comedy.

I may not know much about construction, but here’s one thing I do know: as Pastor Eric often reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). Watching this Worship Center rise right outside our offices is a tangible reminder that our true foundation is built on Christ alone.

To Him be all the glory!
