Look at those pipes standing tall in the back corner of the Worship Center…
Sure, it’s the electrical closet—officially known now as The Zap Zone (thank you, Alicia Hanks!)
But tell me that doesn’t look like someone’s setting up an old-school church organ back there.
It got me thinking… what’s your favorite hymn?
Mine’s Because He Lives.
I can still picture standing next to my dad in church—both of us singing terribly, sneaking glances at each other, and silently laughing at how off-key we were. Still one of my favorite memories.

More pipes! I circled them just so you can keep an eye out next time you’re on campus.
My best guess? They’re for electricity. Probably for the stage.
Or for Christmas trees.
Or both.
And yes—Emily Davis and I are already scheming how to decorate the new Worship Center for Christmas. Priorities, people. ????

More progress by the Student Ministry Building!
See those trenches?
The one that runs closest to the building is for sewage. The one closer to the playground is for water and fire department pipes… I think.
(I, for one, am very glad they keep those pipes separate.)

Thought we were done with fire hydrants?
Haha. Cute. ????
Not only do we have another one, but we’ve also got a bonus candy-cane-looking pipe.
I just learned it’s for the fire department to push water into our building if the regular water isn’t working during a fire—straight to the ceiling sprinklers!
Like… reverse hydrant.
Mind. Blown. ????

Another spring storm, another pond-sized puddle. ????
Here’s a little behind-the-scenes nugget I learned this week:
One day of rain can cause up to three days of delay.
Why?
Because running big machines through the mud can cause more damage than progress.
Sometimes the smartest move… is waiting.

A view from the covered walkway in front of the Student Ministry doors.
See that pond behind the firepit? ????
Let me zoom in…

Yep. That hole I jokingly called a pool?
It’s about to become… a cesspool. ????
(Thanks for the joke, Max!)
Once they dig those double trenches allllll the way across the front of the Student Ministry Building, they’ll end up here.
Then they’ll dig an even deeper hole here—and from it, bore a tunnel underneath the driveway between the church and the school (without tearing up the road!).
The tunnel will connect to a manhole near the TCA cafeteria sidewalk on the other side of the hill.
And THEN comes the most interesting (and grossest) part… stay with me… ????

It all ends up here.
This, my friends, is a Pump Grinding Station.
Which… yep, does exactly what it sounds like. ????
(Warning: stop reading if you get grossed out easily!)
It grinds up everything—solids and liquids—and pumps it uphill to the main Waste Station.
Mind. Blown. Again. ????

And because there’s no way I’m ending on that note…
Here’s a view of the Worship Center foundation on a rainy day. ????️
God has the timing of this building in His hands.
As a staff, we’ve prayed over and over that He would build it.
That He would provide the funds for it.
That He would bring people to it.
And most of all, that people would come to know Jesus because of what He does here.
Will you pray with us this week?
About These Updates
This is a casual, behind-the-scenes look at the Worship Center construction at Trinity. I’m Krista Gordon, Communications Director, armed with a phone camera and curiosity, a pretty consistent track record of confusing water pipes with electrical things, and an AI buddy who helps turn my construction confusion into comedy.
I may not know much about construction, but here’s one thing I do know: as Pastor Eric often reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). Watching this Worship Center rise right outside our offices is a tangible reminder that our true foundation is built on Christ alone.
To Him be all the glory!
