Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

Plumbing progress continues over here—even with storms in the forecast this week.

Also continuing?

The temptation to hop the orange construction fence and turn those trenches into a lazy river.

(Please don’t. Max would absolutely not approve. ????????)

Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

Caught this view from the second floor (shoutout to Emily Davis for sharing her window yet again ????).

The trenches by the Student Ministry Building are making progress—slowly but surely.

But that teal pipe sticking straight up?

I don’t know much, but I think that’s not how pipes usually work.

Also… the parking lot. So. Much. Dirt. Who’s got a power washer?

Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

The trenches leading out from the Zap Zone are finally getting filled in!

You can spot the mini excavator smoothing things out while Max (Construction Supervisor Extraordinaire) heads over to check on the next team.

Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

Take note of this little hole—

We’ll come back to it.

(Pretty sure those are sprinkler parts.)

Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

Here’s a view from Pastor Chris’s office.

(And yes, it’s Chris’s — I spent five full minutes deciding if it needed an extra “s” after the apostrophe. Grammar is hard.)

Do you think Pastor Chris knows this is just the beginning of me barging in his office for construction photos?

Pretty sure he was sermon prepping.
Spoiler: It’s probably about Jesus.
(That’s a guess. But I like my odds.)

Also, who else wants to slide down that roof?
No? Just me?

None of this is relevant to a construction update.

Just giving you a peek into how my brain works.

I’m … sorry. ????

Sooo… yeah. This is what’s happening right now.

Turns out, “100% chance of rain” was right for once.

(Texans, you know what I’m talking about ????☔️)

Some people photograph sunsets.

I bring you: wet dirt.

You’re welcome.

Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

I’m confident these drains will do their job… once we have a floor to drain.

Until then, they’re just standing tall in a giant puddle.

Hang in there, little guys.

Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

Remember that little hole I told you to keep an eye on?

Four hours later… it’s a small pond.

Texas weather, y’all. Always keeping us humble.

Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

Remember that snarky comment I made yesterday about the parking lot needing a power wash?

(Okay, it was like 11 photos ago… but still.)

Well, either my laptop’s bugged…
or someone’s been peeking at my draft emails.

Because LOOK WHO SHOWED UP WITH A POWER WASHER! ????

Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

Look at that progress!

Two hours later, and a whole section in front of the Student Ministry Building is already clean.

Still some mud to tackle…

but power washer guy? He’s not messing around. ????

Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

By the afternoon: spotless.

No mud. No crew. No power washer in sight.

Like a parking lot fairy godmother came and went.

Episode 13: God: “Do You Trust Me?” Me: “…Working on It.”

It’s been another wet and muddy week on-site.

And while I know the crew is still working hard behind the scenes, it’s easy to feel stuck. To wonder if things will ever move forward like we hoped.

I get it.

I’ve had those thoughts too.

But lately, in my own conversations with Jesus, one question keeps coming up:
“Do you trust Me?”

And if I’m honest, my answer is often,
“Not really. Not right now.”

(Especially when I’m praying about something I’m clearly not trusting Him with. ????)

But if God is who He says He is… then He’s trustworthy.

And if this Worship Center is really His (not ours),
then we trust His timing.

Even when it rains.

Even when it’s slow.

Do you believe His timing is perfect?

Me too. Or, at least, I’m working on it. ????

About These Updates

This is a casual, behind-the-scenes look at the Worship Center construction at Trinity. I’m Krista Gordon, Communications Director, armed with a phone camera and curiosity, a pretty consistent track record of confusing water pipes with electrical things, and an AI buddy who helps turn my construction confusion into comedy.

I may not know much about construction, but here’s one thing I do know: as Pastor Eric often reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). Watching this Worship Center rise right outside our offices is a tangible reminder that our true foundation is built on Christ alone.

To Him be all the glory!
