Episode 17: Yes, We Took a Selfie With a Truck

SO MANY great things happening in construction this week!

After weeks of much-needed rain (we’re always grateful for it!), things are finally moving again. We’ve got progress in multiple spots… and something huge rolled in Friday morning.

You’ll see it at the end—totally worth scrolling for.

Episode 17: Yes, We Took a Selfie With a Truck

A bold new look.

Most weeks we get the usual yellow “caution” tape… but this week? We’ve upgraded to red “danger” tape. No explanation. Just a quiet escalation.

Should we be worried? Or is this just the construction version of switching to your spicy salsa era? ????️????

Episode 17: Yes, We Took a Selfie With a Truck

Somehow, the playground remains a pristine island of calm in a sea of dirt, pipes, and machines.

It makes me think of Psalm 23—He makes me lie down in green pastures…

…while dump trucks roar nearby and someone accidentally severs a sprinkler line. ????????

Episode 17: Yes, We Took a Selfie With a Truck
I WAS RIGHT.

The plumbing pipes are headed straight to the manhole by the TCA cafeteria.

Which means two things:

1. I was correct about something construction-related (!!!)

2. You’re going to kindly forget that I was briefly confused about where the pipes were going in last week’s update ????????

But now I have a new mystery:
What was that yellow caution tape near the cafeteria I pointed out last week?

No clue. Still stumped.

Episode 17: Yes, We Took a Selfie With a Truck

Wires sticking out of pipes!

(Just doing my part as Captain Obvious.)

This is the outdoor area—so… lights? Fans? AN OUTDOOR CHRISTMAS TREE??

I have zero confirmation on the tree, but Emily (my Christmas cohort) and I have officially started a petition. ????????

Check it out! They are framing the sidewalk to the preschool entrance! And just in time for Kids Blast.

Belive me, Shanen (our fearless TrinityKIDS Director) is doing a happy dance right now.

Episode 17: Yes, We Took a Selfie With a Truck

Yeah—I have no idea what’s happening here.

Just giving you the full view of the foundation area… while casually spying on people from upstairs.

Apparently the crew now knows I regularly spy and take photos… which led to a conversation I’m definitely not putting in a church update ????

You can ask me about it later! ????

Episode 17: Yes, We Took a Selfie With a Truck
Shanen is doing a happy dance… again!

More concrete is framed and ready—hopefully getting poured before Kids Blast.

Pray, y’all. Pray!

Episode 17: Yes, We Took a Selfie With a Truck

Under this mysterious yellow tarp: electricity things.

This is the spot where all the power comes in from the transformer by the service road—which feels important, but also looks like someone just left their giant rain poncho behind.

Aaaaaaand…

the big reveal you’ve been waiting for this whole email…

(drumroll please)…

Episode 17: Yes, We Took a Selfie With a Truck

Tada!!!!

THE BEAMS HAVE ARRIVED.

Multiple semitrucks rolled in Friday morning loaded with steel—aka the bones of our future Worship Center.

Yes, we took a selfie.
Yes, we made the truck driver laugh.
Yes, this is really happening.

Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. (Psalm 127:1)

We’re trusting Him every step of the way.

About These Updates

This is a casual, behind-the-scenes look at the Worship Center construction at Trinity. I’m Krista Gordon, Communications Director, armed with a phone camera and curiosity, a pretty consistent track record of confusing water pipes with electrical things, and an AI buddy who helps turn my construction confusion into comedy.

I may not know much about construction, but here’s one thing I do know: as Pastor Eric often reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). Watching this Worship Center rise right outside our offices is a tangible reminder that our true foundation is built on Christ alone.

To Him be all the glory!
