Episode 18: The Espresso Bar Is (Probably Not) Coming

We prayed—and God answered!

Fresh concrete now connects the parking lot to both the Student Ministry and Preschool entrances… just in time for Kids Blast!

And someday soon, this sidewalk will lead to the main entrance of our new Worship Center—filled with families, wiggly preschoolers, and first-time guests finding their way in.

Also: I’m pretty sure it’s wider than the old sidewalk. Which is great news for anyone trying to herd small children in a straight-ish line. ????????

Notice anything missing???

That’s right—the Dead Tree is officially gone.

(If you don’t remember the Dead Tree, that’s okay. Just know it earned the name.)

Now all that’s left is the Weird Tree. Max—our construction supervisor—named it, apparently because of the leaves.

Not creepy-weird—just “what’s going on here?” weird. The kind of tree that makes you tilt your head and squint a little.

Just over here by the TCA cafeteria… looking in holes for fun. Again. ????

This pit handles all our sewage (glamorous, I know), and while I’m not sure what today’s task is, the amount of red tape says, “please take this very seriously.”

And I am. With my camera. From a safe distance.

Episode 18: The Espresso Bar Is (Probably Not) Coming
Back over at the Worship Center foundation, we’ve got some new additions:

sticks and string.

They might not look like much.

But what if… just what if… they’re outlining the future home of an espresso bar?

To be clear, this is 100% my idea. I haven’t run it by Pastor Eric yet.

But for the record—I think it would really minister to the caffeine-deprived. Just saying

Episode 18: The Espresso Bar Is (Probably Not) Coming

No, your eyes are not deceiving you.

I am walking on the new sidewalk to the preschool building this morning!! WOOHOO!!

(Also, yes—that may be my second cup of coffee. Don’t judge. It’s a big day.)

Episode 18: The Espresso Bar Is (Probably Not) Coming
Using a very precise measuring tool (my imagination), I’ve determined that the new sidewalk is exactly four persons wide.

Feel free to use your own family to double-check my work. ????

Check it out!!

They’re cleaning off the concrete just in time for Kids Blast—pretty sure this is where the group tents are going.

Happy dance, commence. ????????

And now, Fellow Construction Watchers, it’s time:

Kids Blast starts Monday.

Would you pray that the Holy Spirit begins preparing the hearts of the 370 preschool and elementary kids coming to campus?

(Yes, you heard me right—370 kids!!!)

That kids will feel comfortable and welcome here.
That the Father will draw their hearts to Him.
That families and generations will follow Christ because of what’s happening on our campus next week.

Jesus, we ask these things in Your name. Amen.

About These Updates

This is a casual, behind-the-scenes look at the Worship Center construction at Trinity. I’m Krista Gordon, Communications Director, armed with a phone camera and curiosity, a pretty consistent track record of confusing water pipes with electrical things, and an AI buddy who helps turn my construction confusion into comedy.

I may not know much about construction, but here’s one thing I do know: as Pastor Eric often reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). Watching this Worship Center rise right outside our offices is a tangible reminder that our true foundation is built on Christ alone.

To Him be all the glory!
