Freshly poured and ready to conduct greatness.
This little concrete pad may not look like much, but it’s basically the red carpet for all incoming electricity. Soon, power will zip through here from the transformer by the service road, heading straight into the Zap Zone to light up the Worship Center, the parking lot, and—one can hope—my office heater in January. ????
Please join me in admiring its smooth, untouched glory…
…before a bird inevitably chooses it as its “spot.”

Hmmm… what’s going on here??
Is the wall falling down??
I haven’t seen anyone marching around it seven times.
(Bible joke! Walls of Jericho, anyone?? Book of Joshua?? No? Just me? Cool cool.)

Zooming in to see what’s going on…

Zooming further…
Nope. I still have no idea. The wall looks straight and strong to me. ????♀️
I’ll have to ask someone who actually knows things.
In the meantime, can we all just appreciate that lone flower growing up through the construction mud?
That flower clearly didn’t read the “Do Not Enter” sign.

Nothing like a little mud and a mini excavator to say, “Gas line going in!”
What’s it for?
Probably heating, hot water, and the ability to host events in February without turning into a frozen congregation.
Or maybe it’s just prepping us for Phase 3: The Great Trinity Chili Cook-Off Showdown.
Only time will tell.

The manhole project is DONE! ????????????
Between TCA finals a few weeks ago and Kids Blast this week, it was a tight squeeze. Things got a little dicey there for a minute… but once again, our incredible crew pulled it off!
Also: please note the boot scrapers carefully lined up by the sidewalk.
They make me want to tromp through a construction mud pit just so I can justify using one.
Because nothing says “grown-up fun” like tactical shoe cleaning.

Y’ALL!!!!
I finally found out what’s going on with our Jericho wall.
Spoiler: It’s not falling. It’s not leaning. And no one’s marching around it with trumpets.
Those wooden braces? They’re part of the formwork for the foundation pour we’re waiting on. Just holding everything steady until the real action starts.
The wall is fine.
I, however, am still recovering emotionally.

While asking about our Jericho wall, I stumbled onto some bonus info:
There’s going to be a wall that hides the RTUs (Rooftop Units)… which, in a plot twist, won’t actually be on the roof.
So… Groundtop? Notroof? Cool Box?
We’ll workshop it.

Do you see those Kids Blast tents in the distance?
All week, I could hear them buzzing with excitement—kids chanting, worship music blasting, joy in full swing. Even with all the storms and mud and construction, our staff and volunteers pulled off a spectacular week where the name of Jesus was held high and the gospel was clearly preached.
And then, in the preschool hallway, I saw it:
A teen leader sitting crisscross applesauce on the floor, facing a younger child. They were deep in conversation—focused, sincere—and something about it made me stop.
A moment later, the teen looked up at me and a couple of the other adult volunteers, beaming like she could barely hold it in.
“He just accepted Jesus into his heart!” she said.
Right there on the hallway floor, that child had heard the good news that Jesus loves him and saves him—and he said yes.
We got to celebrate with them.
And as I finally walked back to my office, all I could think was:
This is what it’s all about.
About These Updates
This is a casual, behind-the-scenes look at the Worship Center construction at Trinity. I’m Krista Gordon, Communications Director, armed with a phone camera and curiosity, a pretty consistent track record of confusing water pipes with electrical things, and an AI buddy who helps turn my construction confusion into comedy.
I may not know much about construction, but here’s one thing I do know: as Pastor Eric often reminds us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” (Psalm 127:1). Watching this Worship Center rise right outside our offices is a tangible reminder that our true foundation is built on Christ alone.
To Him be all the glory!
