About Meals on Wheels
The mission of Parker County Committee on Aging, Inc. (Meals on Wheels), is to identify and assess the needs of homebound older adults in Parker County, Texas, and to provide life-sustaining services which allow them to live in the comfort of their homes.
Plans to provide services for the seniors of Parker County began on June 27, 1975, when a group of citizens met for an organizational meeting to realize a dream. The first activities were held in May 1977 at the old college library building, which became the first senior center. Then, in January 1988, a larger facility with its own Meals on Wheels kitchen opened its doors and has been the home of the Parker County Senior Center ever since.Â
They have built strong partnerships with families, businesses, regional healthcare organizations in and outside Parker County. In 2022, they delivered over 53,750 home-delivered meals through Parker County Meals on Wheels.
