Barbosu Family's Story
God is Moving in Romania
There is a hunger in Romania. After suffering decades of repression under the former communist rule, post-revolutionary Romania is in a thriving spiritual awakening. Families -- often with little money but large hearts and bountiful hospitality -- are being drawn to the Lord, looking for hope and to rebuild the spiritual foundation that was stolen for years.
Cristian and Anne Barbosu, our missionaries through Koinonia Missionary Fellowship, have been called to minister to the Romanian people. Cristian leads their ministry and preaches the Word, and Anne ministers to the women. The Lord is also training daughters Fiona, Tara and Eden to grow as leaders themselves. Contemporary worship is new to Romania, but God is using it in a powerful way to reach people in church, as well as at youth rallies and special events that lead all around Romania. Both older daughters serve as worship leaders for different age groups, and eldest daughter Fiona would like to attend Liberty University in Virginia to become formally trained.
The Barbosus are currently working on an exciting growth project. This year, they started construction on a formal meeting space that they hope to move into by September. They are working on the roof at the moment, but could sure use labor and funds to keep it on track. The building will also enable them to launch another dream: the Eastern European Church Planting Center.
Pray for the Barbosus as they struggle with ongoing health challenges, funding, and labor needs so the building project can stay on track. PRay also for spiritual protection and fruitfulness in Romania, and for funds for Fiona's education.
